This is the payoff. As a designer, your goal is to make eye-grabbing materials to inspire a change in behavior, tone, or maintain a message. But let's be honest. From my perspective, a little of the fun of designing comes from the bragging rights.
It comes with the territory. When someone tells you they like what you've created it is the eqivalent of a new pair of shoes, a passing grade, a touchdown. It makes the effort worth it. And makes you want to do it again as soon as possible. It's envigorating.
